Dear Jepp,
My first-born my pride my joy. I think I had constantly reminded you of your great talents and abilities which earlier on in your life you unselfishly shared with us- your family and loved ones. You made your school proud, you awed a nation ( not to mention Tito Vic and Joey), and you made your parents, relatives and grandparents beam with joy and pride.
I always told you that you have it in you to succeed in this life. You just have to go back and find that child in you again when you gloriously shared your talents to everybody . You were fearless, determined, unrelenting, passionate, savvy, confident, creative and simply awesome.
But honestly I was worried how you would turn up as a grown-up. I know I am not the best Mom and I feared that I was not there for you during the times you needed me. I do not know whether you understood why Mommy had less time for you than your Dad’s. And why Dad has to take more part in taking care of your daily needs. In fact I envy your Dad that he has more time for you and wished I could have it the same way because I truly enjoy being with you and Enzo- especially now that you are young boys. But it is not too late for us, there are many more adventures to take, sights to see, people to meet and worlds to conquer for us. And I would like us to do that together as a family.
So son as you leave the enclave of La Salle and go out to the rough and tough tumble world of college life and eventually the real world, just remember as I had experienced before that it ain’t easy out there- hold on to yourself together, respect others and have self-respect as well, gather all the knowledge in and out of the classroom to shape yourself into a better man and fill yourself with the love of your family, your true friends and people that truly matter to you.
As shared by Lolo Mario the Coca Cola 100- year- old Man commercial ( and which Mom lives and advocates) - Simple lang ang payo ko "Hanapin mo kung ano ang magpapasaya sa'yo,Napakabilis ng panahon Huwag mong sasayangin sa mga walang makabuluhang bagay" at gaano mang kalayo ang marating wag mo kalimutan kung saan ka nanggaling. …… Pinanganak ka para maging maligaya ang mga kaibigan at pamilya mo ang magpapakita kung paano ito.
Celebrate life and victory, my son… Mommy and Daddy, the whole family and your true friends are here to cheer you on….
Love you with all our hearts,
Mommy ( speaking also for Daddy)

Enzo's new playmate

I love my dog i like him and his cute i always play with him. He is a shitzu. His name is pow.
I wish i have a puppy. Mommy promised me two more dogs. and i like transformers toys i like bumblebee and megatron. - This is Enzo
Enzo had been begging for a puppy for weeks now. He finds Pow to old already to play with or probably he just wants a new playmate. His Dad will not buy him a dog with a breed- too expensive for a playmate. There was much argument if we are getting one with a breed. Thankfully, his Ate Lyn got him one- a black chocolate mutt. Cute one. Will do for now, I think. Until Enzo shifts his attention to another playmate. He is teetering on getting a sea monkey!!?? Now let me search for the internet on what is that???

It's been almost 2 months since my last post. A lot of distractions brought about by the burden of slavery called work made me miss my blogging ritual. So how does a working mom like me able to weather workplace burdens, relationship troubles, financial woes while raising young sons and endeavoring to live a full life? A lot of help from friends, loved ones; unconditional and silent love from my sons; and resilient spirit fortified by God's grace.
Sometimes I ask what is the essence of working hard but not having time to watch and be part of my kids' lives? Especially now that Jeff is a teenager and Enzo is not anymore a baby. Everyday, they amaze me and how I suffer knowing I cannot experience one of the most amazing things that happens in this world-- my kids' growing up. While taking a break from this post, Enzo took control and wrote this on the post " i like super inggo and karate kid my latest favorite is 1940 mark of zorro" - a constant reminder of his ever changing tastes and favorites.
Jeff is into computer gaming. It's a struggle to get him un-hooked. But our compromise is - gaming is only on weekends; no computers during school days.He strictly follows it- no ifs, no buts except when further compromises are made and only a mother's heart can understand why rules are sometimes bended. :)
Life should be simple, fulfilling and fun-filled. I intend to get hold of my life again not just for myself but for my kids as well. They are missing out on what Mommy has to offer in their lives too.

Enzo, my joy

Sheer joy. Have you ever experienced with someone an overwhelming feeling of profound joy that no words can even describe? This is the certain feeling I felt the first time I saw son, Enzo. He of the frail frame and helpless condition with tubes attached to my baby's body and mouth. But if ever I had a vision of what an angel is that was what I saw in Enzo as he lay fighting for his life inside the incubator. But my son is a survivor. With prayers and good doctors, he survived the difficult conditions of his birth and continuous to awe us of his wonderful talents and give us joy. Even if he is a bit mischievous at times, most often though he is sweet and loving.
He is my baby who looks more like me or does he? But he has his Dad's calm veneer often mistaken for being distant. But he wants to be sure of everything he does. And will always ask for approval from me or his Dad. At such a young age,he aims for perfection. I never tire of looking at him and find myself smiling and awed by my bundle of joy.

soccer
Enzo had his first training day in soccer last Saturday, Aug. 9,2008 at Marist School. It was breezy day. Nice day to play soccer. All the soccer moms were there. Soccer moms or dads I think that is how they are called when you have your son/daughter playing soccer. The soccer moms were a chatty bunch. I kept my distance from them. I was enjoying the cool breeze, the calm surroundings of the training grounds( the oval)and Enzo, who was all perspiration but enjoying it all. He didn't have yet the required soccer shoes and the long socks. Gosh, he was in his Marist P.E. uniform even. I shouldn't have trusted his Dad to take care of his soccer outfit. I don't usually attend my kids' activities at school, as most Mom are obliged to do.But I like this soccer training, I have time for myself while my son plays. All the other Moms were taking video and sounded senseless to me as they talked about soccer. I dismissed them at the start but then after watching the pure joy in Enzo's face , for the pride of getting the right kick or controlling the ball, I understood better the enthusiasm of the soccer Moms ...until Enzo tells me... " Mom,I should have taken swimming or basketball instead" :)
